Contexto

ova 2019 The glass series Ova is designed to give a feeling of luxury to the table setting. The solid sphere base gives the drinking glass a lovely weight in the hand and helps the eggcup to stand steadily on the table. The glasses are made with optical blowing which is a technique that gives the glass the striped pattern. I wanted to mix different optical patterns in the same object to create a kind of dynamic movement in the object. The inspiration for mixing patterns came from Josef Frank's love of patterns and his philosophy of mixing different patterns in a room to create an environment that is harmonious and feels calm in the long run. eva 2020 I received a scholarship from Svenskt Tenn for my glass series Ova. This allowed me to expand on the series and make it more flexible. Ova was initially designed for the breakfast table but can of course be used in different settings. To make the series more versatile I design the wine and champagne glasses. The glasses follow the idea of mixing patterns to bring some movement into the static object. The solid foot of the glasses gives them a lovely weight and a feeling of balance in the hand. I experiment with colors within the new collection.

I wanted to create objects that would be interesting in and of themselves but also could be a part of a series. The eggcup (small glass) was the piece that was the starting point of the project. I prototyped with paper, plastic, clay, and 3D prints to find the perfect proportions of the 2 elements.
